Troubleshoot - Misconceptions

Why is eTomi Sending eMail?

eTomi is actually not sending eMail. ZoneAlarm monitors every port used. Now, Port 25 is almost always used for eMail by many applications. eTomi can use a random port every time you start it up. When you connect to somebody who uses port 25 it is detected by ZoneAlarm, and it thinks that it is eMail Traffic. This is a bug which lies within ZoneAlarm - its inability to detect eMail traffic from regular internet traffic, which many other firewalls already do. Complain to ZoneLabs about it, if you like.

How can I stop eTomi from using Port 25?

The only way you can do this is to stop eTomi from using Random Ports. Go into eTomi Settings > Internet > Connection and Uncheck Random. Set the port to 6346 (standard), or anything you like. It is usually best for it to be four digits though. ZoneAlarm? will still report eTomi, however, if it connects to somebody using port 25.
